The Steward Bell Tower is a neat bell tower and clock located on the Weber State University campus in Ogden. It was built in 1971. It is a pretty neat bell tower that doubles as a clock tower. Landis tells me is can be programmed to play songs. I was able to confirm that it can be played on a carillon which can be programmed. I was not able to find a definitive answer as to how tall it is, but I found the 4 steel pylons are 120 feet tall source (outside link) so I am going to say it is about 120 feet tall ish.
We did this on a whim between seeing a play and visiting some family up in Ogden. But it is pretty neat! Plus we saw some other fun stuff today.

To Get Here:
Head up towards Ogden. Take i15 to HW89, turn right onto Harrison BLVD. Go about 2.6 miles and turn right on 3850 S into the WSU Campus. Go through the traffic circle, and park. The rest will be on foot. to the east.
That is not what we did, but that easiest. To do wat we did go left at the traffic circle (around use the 2nd exit) go around Edvalson St. and park in the large lot, labeled A2. Walk South.

The little digital display boards actually provided some helpful info today, and warned us that there was a road hazard ahead and to expect a delay.
We did hit a slowdown, but I could see the flashy lights not far ahead so I figured it shouldn’t be very long.
Whelp, it turns out the hazard is a fire next to i84 in Weber Canyon (PSP).
Oh no, I can see flames (PSP). Well, turns out they just shut down the canyon so now we were stuck with a bunch of people who suddenly learned they could not go that way and were all just making random decisions. Ooph, come on, we just want to keep going north.
Well, this turned into the Broad Fire, and the last time I checked is burning over 130 acres. Crap. I hope they get it contained soon.

After the show we decided to go have some lunch before meeting with some family.
The last Big Lots to close in Utah (PSP) They haven’t changed out the signs yet. You know, in the end, there wasn’t much of a bargain to be found at Big Lots, but I still kind of miss them.
We had lunch at Jimmy Johns on Riverdale Rd. And which we were eating we noticed a street clock at the Warrens across the street! So naturally my nerdy ass wanted to check it out, because I love street clocks.
Under the Warrens Sign. Warrens has been an Ogden Staple since the 1950’s. It has changed hands a couple of times, but the original principles have held.
Unfortunately, the clock is enclosed in a fenced in dining area, and well, we did not dine here today. So, we did the awkward outside looking in thing. But, it is another neat street clock!

It is not displaying the correct time. With our quick visit it is unclear if it just hasn’t been set, or is not functioning at all.

I did confirm it has 2 faces, but I didn't get a shot of the other side cause well, I am not jumping the fence, or just walking through the restaurant. o.O Next time we are in the area and need food we'll come here.
Well, so far this is the 2nd street clock I have found in Ogden. Fun!

Well, as luck would have it we found that we had a good half hour or so to kill still. So I decided we would go find the clock tower since I was sure it was on this end of town.
On to the Weber State University (WSU) Campus.
I had no idea where the clock I was after was, I saw a picture of it on the Ogden Wikipedia page. Landis had an idea though.
Before long we found it! Hooray! What a neat clock tower. Er I guess, bell tower.

It is about 10 minutes slow right now, but that’s not bad, considering.

There is a nice little area below on the west side. I thought about going down and getting a better view, and just didn’t today. But, I wish I had. Meh, guess I will have to come back.
So, to access the clock/bell tower you would have to climb that tall ass latter. Yeah… no.
It is called the Stewart Bell Tower Plaza. Built in 1971 and renovated in 2008. Neat.

Landis took us up over the university over to the Dee Events Center because he was sure there was another wildcat stature here (PSP). There is, but I didn’t get a shot of it. I thought he was gonna park, but then he didn’t haha. It was his adventure so I didn’t protest. Plus, we had used up our time to kill, so on to meet family.

We got to see a plane drop some retardant (PSP). Just unfortunate timing with a stupid light pole. But, still neat to see.

Well, things didn’t quite work out as we had planned today, but we saw a couple neat things today on our random adventures. Some new thigs, and a couple repeats, but hey, it was an adventure! Meh…. 7 squirrels today.
As for difficulty, today was mostly drive by and see, the Bell Tower required a short walk. So, DR2.
Dogs are allowed on public sidewalks, leashed. I have no idea if the university has more strict rules or not, but meh, I’d leave them home for it either way.
