Millrace Park is a small park in Taylorsville just off of the Jordan River Parkway. It features your standard park amenities, playground, tennis court, soccer fields, etc. A small pond, an enclosed dog park, and of course access to the river. It is named for an old flour mill that used to be here.
My friends and I like to do healthy walks in this area since it is pretty central to all of us. Today we decided to cross the river and explore Millrace Park. It is a nice little park.

Take i15 to 5300 South. Head west for about a mile. Turn right on 1070 West. Go about 280 feet and turn left into the large parking lot. This is the south end of Germania Park.
The Trail:
The bridge from Germania Park to Millrace Park.
The Jordan River.
Millrace Park trailhead. You can totally park there, we just tend to meet at Germania Park.
Boat access.
This was brand new at the time of the pictures taken. The county has been busy as a beaver putting in these boat ramps to access the river via kayak or boat, and also to get around some obstacles in the river.
Downstream.
Upstream.
Pond.
Unpaved trail around it. Or so we thought. It actually ends, so it is just the east side of the pond.
Duck.
The pond again.
"No Fishing No Trespassing North of this point
The area north of this point is a designated nature preserve Violators will be issued a citation for trespassing"
Well, poop. We were hoping to go all the way around it. But, none of us think it is worth the risk of a ticket haha. So, back we go.
The pond again.
Snake friend.
Pretty yellow flowers.
Cormorant.
Wildflowers.
Open fields.
More wildflowers coming up.
A nice solar halo.
Bridge back to Germania Park.
Jordan River.
Quail.
Solar Halo again.
Again.
Well, I can see why I didn’t post this originally, I didn’t show a whole lot of Millrace Park, but meh. Here we go. It was a nice little walk. 6 out of 10 squirrels.
As for difficulty, it is pretty flat and easy. The main loop is paved DR2. The little path along the pond is not. DR3.
Dogs are allowed, leashed. Please clean up after your furry friends.
