Every Snowflake Is Unique

On this cold New Years Eve as I was brushing the very light fluffy snow off of my car to go into work when something caught my eye.

Individual snowflakes in the cool geometric patterns like you cut up as a kid. Upon closer inspection they were all big enough to capture with a regular 55 mm lens.

Now I am certain this is not rare as there is a reason we cut those snowflakes out, but I have never seen it before. Our snow is typically really wet clumpy stuff, or possibly I just never looked close enough before. Either way I was fascinated enough to take some more pictures.

Alright maybe I went a little overboard but this was just darn interesting and exciting for me.
