Karaoke, Booze, and FIRE! Round 2.

 

I haven't posted anything a a while, and I have this event I meant to post months ago, so why not kill 2 birds? So this event happened in July 2010.

I really need to start this post the same way I started the last one of the same event. My friend Vee, REALLY knows how to celebrate her birthday. Seriously, she goes all out. Some of the best times have been had at her parties, and her Birthdays are always better.

Exhibit A:

  Shortly after I arrived they were putting together a stripper pole. No, there were no strippers, it was just for people who felt like dancing… with a pole.

This image makes me giggle as it came with 2 thoughts. 1) is it in yet? and 2) doesn’t it kind of resemble that iconic American picture of the soldiers raising the flag? but in a much more uhm… just in a different way.

I realized too late I had chosen the wrong place to sit and watch the show. Unobstructed view yes, but I was on the wrong side of the show.

Vee is starting to get really good at this!

Then, for a special birthday treat, Vee got a special Poi dance from Jess. She is still learning Poi, so for safety reasons she is using glowing balls, rather than actual flamage. Still cool though.

 
I guess the color of light changes so I caught these cool multi colored light streaks.

After that the entertainment came to a close, and the evening moved to typical party debauchery.

See. I told you, no strippers.

Again, it was an excellent event. Something I look forward to every year. Not just because it is by far one of the best sources of photography for me, but also because it is a great time with a lot of great people.
