Memory Grove Round 2.

We have visited Memory Grove before, this weekend we had promised ma and the kids to do a hike, so we thought of all of the hikes we have done, and this is by far the easiest we have done.

I never noticed this little side staircase stream before today. Kind of cool.

I have never seen this fountain running. It’s cool, and I would like to. Maybe I need to visit in the spring.

This is one of my favorite monuments.

I went in for a closeup of some leaves, and got quite the surprise. And people wonder why I have issues picking up leaves.

We always used to refer to this as the old witches hut, but I believe it was probably an old mill building of some sort.

I don’t know why, but I particularly like this shot. Lots of color.

I wanted to hike the side trail up a little further, but Mah and the kids were getting tuckered so we crossed the stream here to the road to head back down. Apparently this road is open to cars between Memorial and Labor Day on odd days. One of these times I think I would like to drive up and see what is up at the top of the canyon.

That rounded peak on the left is Ensign Peak. Another fun hike we have done in the past.

Memory Grove (or I guess correctly called Memory Park) is a very popular little park, well the front section. After the staircase the crowds thin out quite a bit. It is one of the must see little parks right below the state capitol building. I have fond teenage memories of the place (didn’t see it in daylight until I would say about 2000) but it is still a great place to go. All in all I would give it a good 7 squirrels.
