Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum

On our last day in Vernal we decided to explore town a little bit and we found the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum (phew, that is a mouthful). It is seriously a great little museum. That has a lot of great informative exhibits and a lot of fun stuff for kids to do as well. It is donation based.

We totally did things backwards and started at the gift shop, and then had to carry our souvenirs through the rest of the museum. But whatever,I am pleased with what I found and they also referred us to the most amazing fossil shop in town, Fullbright Studios.

There are some reproduction petroglyphs.

And some incredible fossils! I don’t think I have ever seen a stingray (or the sign says fresh water ray) before, so cool!

Park across the street has some fun dinosaurs as well.

This was a fun little museum. The staff were very friendly, but not too abrasive *cough* Dinosaur Discover Museum at Johnson Farm *cough* There were a lot of cool things to look at and I really like how the museum was setup. It was really cool to descend backwards in time through the layers of stone. The garden was really pretty and I liked the dinosaur statues. Definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out if you have time.
